LinkedIn Program Drives Stradvision Forward For CES And Beyond

Wise Up PR revved up Stradvision's social media visibility to achieve breakthrough success.

About Stradvision

Stradvision is a South Korean company focused on AI computer vision for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for autonomous driving technology.

Its primary product and core proprietary technology is called SVNet. It is a real-time object detection software that provides ADAS and self-driving cars with perception to recognize and classify objects on the road, including traffic sign recognition, as well as in-car, such as driver drowsiness detection. In the ADAS application, it is focused on L2+ and L4 autonomy. Currently, its solution has been deployed in just under one million vehicles.

The company has raised over $130m to date.

The Challenge

As a pioneer in AI vision technology for autonomous cars, Stradvision had established itself as a leader in ADAS and automotive technology solutions within the Asia-Pacific Region (APAC). To support the brand’s next phase of international growth beyond South Korea and APAC, it wanted to significantly elevate its visibility and engagement through an English language social media campaign targeting the most important US and EU decision-makers within the automotive, technology and VC sectors.

Until this point, all social media channels had been managed in-house and the brand wanted a strategic communications agency that would create a social media strategy, as well as run the execution of content creation and management of posting and replying to followers. The audience was highly defined to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), tier one suppliers and the wider investment community. The overall goal was not virality, instead to position the brand as a highly trusted, international leader in automotive software.

Our Approach

The Wise Up PR team onboarded quickly to immediately support the brand’s CES exhibition presence, one of the technology industry’s most pivotal and prominent events. Our team provided immediate tactical assistance through content creation and management of social feeds for this event, within two days of the onboarding process.

When CES was over, our approach shifted from pure execution to devising a long-term strategy, directly aligned with the goals for this campaign. A comprehensive audit was conducted to review Stradvision’s existing social media presence, its historical performance data, as well as the deep analysis of the tactics and content pillars used by its biggest competitors on their own feeds to spot engagement trends. By avoiding an immediate execution phase, the research, discovery and planning stage enabled our team to craft a bespoke strategy and exact roadmap to achieve the goals of the campaign.

This upfront work meant we recommended two primary social media channels: LinkedIn and X, in order to reach the target audience of OEMs, tier one suppliers and VC and investment decision-makers. A repeated mistake when relaunching a concerted social media effort is to spread the brand across too many platforms, instead of prioritizing the ones that will deliver the most value for the goals set.

In addition, this planning was essential in defining clear content pillars so that every post that was published was tightly aligned to the brand’s messaging and talking points in order to resonate with the target audience.  These pillars were around Stradvision’s core product (ADAS technology) as well as executive insights (industry view points). Channel-specific recommendations were also provided by our team, such as the use of LinkedIn carousel posts, content repurposing across social media platforms and an employee advocacy program to support awareness of attending or exhibiting at industry events.

With planning complete, the emphasis moved to putting in place a strong operational foundation. It instituted clear procedures for content calendar input and approvals, publishing schedules and guidelines for replies, all aimed at creating a social media program that could be scaled to meet the objectives set out in the brief.

Four Key Takeaways From A Social Media Campaign for Mobility Companies

01.

Audit competitors’ social media output to shape your own strategy

If starting or redefining your brand’s social media strategy, look to competitors for inspiration and insight into what does and doesn’t work. This should be a deep research project, so don’t rush it. Yet, balance is important, especially if you have limited resources. Typically, an audit of between six to eight brands will be enough. Break the research out into clear blocks also across things like messaging, post formats that work, tone of voice of posts that spark engagement and a review of how heavily or not a competitor relies on assets like video.

02.

Define social media content pillars early in the planning process

Content pillars define exactly the topics and themes your social posts will be about. This should not be an ad hoc exercise or done in a piecemeal way. Examining and selecting your specific themes needs to happen at the very start of a social media strategy. Why? It creates authenticity in your content and acts as an anchor around all your content creation choices for social. Unsure about a post? Assess it against your chosen pillars and you’ll quickly know if it fits your brand’s identity.

03.

Create a content bank of assets and posts and recycle them often

Repetition of social content could be seen as a brand being unoriginal and not respecting its audience of followers. This is a questionable assumption and should be ignored. Repetition of content in B2B social media management should and needs to be part of your approach. This is because recycling existing post content and assets catches a larger, more diverse audience after multiple posts as not all of your audience will see one, solitary post from you. This approach maximizes the assets you have and ensures consistent distribution of your key messages. Simple signposting of recycled content is a smart way to avoid audience fatigue too, such as using “In case you missed it” to begin a recycled post.

04.

Ahead of big shows like CES, have a thorough social media action plan

When you're spending much resource and budget on a show like CES, why would you leave your social media to chance? A thorough, methodical plan needs to be created a minimum of three months before the show. It should include a strategy document that outlines how social will support your business goals for such a show, content pillars to be focused on, an inventory of content assets to be created and a draft content calendar. Planning needs to be extremely granular in detail, from defining clear roles and responsibilities for the team onsite as well as offsite, even including a contact sheet of who from your team will be attending and their contact details (including emergency numbers).
